Small business owners should know the importance of making people aware of your business. Without this, business cannot grow. One of the best ways to share your brand is through social media, and the best part is that you don’t need to waste all your money on Facebook ads that just don’t work. The best way to share your brand on social media is to be very active. Whether you share important business updates, sales, promotions, deals, or whether you just share information you think can be useful for your customers, you will build your brand respect, which will eventually grow your business. An important fact to remember is that how many likes your Facebook page has doesn’t matter if the people who like it aren’t engaging with your business in any way.

A few years ago, there was a massive amount of companies online offering “Facebook likes for a price” kind of deals. A lot of companies also thought that this was a great way to get more likes, or somehow gain some business. Unfortunately, these types of ‘pay for like’ deals did more harm than good. They were full of unused accounts that didn’t engage in material that was posted, and soon it was easy to work out who had paid for likes and who hadn’t, simply by how many people were engaged in the content posted by the page. If you have fans of your page who are not engaging, how are you going to grow your business?

Growing your business blogs, and sharing them through your social media accounts, is probably the best way to entice new fans.  Important information that also includes SEO copy can have far more benefits than you realise. It’s not all about creating good content yourself though, so here are some great hacks to help get your social channels flowing.

Use Calls to Action
On Facebook you should use action call words like “share,” “like,” and “comment” and on twitter: use phrases like “please retweet,” “spread,” or “visit.” Creating a sense of urgency, matching your brand and creating/sharing visually appealing content will help the call to actions happen.

Social Media 4:1:1
A good rule of thumb is to ratio your content in this way. There are many researchers who have come to the same conclusion, because it works so well. For each six items of content shared via social networks, four should be content shared from influencers in your field, one item should be original, and one should be a sales related item of content.

Use Google Plus
It has more users than any other network, and they are very active users. It also increases your ranking on search results, because it’s Google.

Improve Your Image Standards
Create a variation of highly appealing images. Use infographics related to your industry, and use high resolution images; ALWAYS.

Show Off Your Reviews
Don’t just show that you get great reviews, get more great reviews by giving excellent customer service, and the reviews will show themselves off.
